South African singer, songwriter, and actress



Angela Thembi Silinda known by her fans as “SWEET ANGELO” hails from Krugersdorp West rand in Gauteng province the City of Gold. She grew up in Nkomazi and she  started her primary level in Mzinti Primary School.

The passion and love of Music started when she attended high school in Tikhuni Secondary school ,as she was a member of a school choirs and she attended drama classes. She loved music and acting a lot, Angelo started writing songs at the age of 14.

A 26 years old Singer, Songwriter was born on the 23rd of December 1992. Having moved around a lot and experienced too much in her early stage, “Angelo finds her inner peace through writing songs” she said.
Angelo didn’t let this lack of opportunities deter her and while many peers put their dreams on hold, she continued to experiment within the music discipline and discover diversity in this vibrant and colorful community that led her to embrace and record her music within the Ragga genre. 
Angelo grew more confidence in music and herself even though her parents where against the career she had chosen, that did not deter her passion for music.


In 2009 she joined a hip hop Group from her school called GREY SOULS.
She started attending local talent shows and people started to recognize her as she was the only female rapper in the group. School mates and People from the Community recommended their music and they began to receive invitations from local promoters in 2013 the Group separated.

Later 2015 Angelo met “BACHIR MALAI” Founder and CEO of Dualcrewsa studios, and she was signed under his Record Label .
Earlier 2016 they released her first reggae single Titled “I WANNA BE FREE” the Song is a reflection of her freedom from pain and sorrow and she was able to breakthrough and found her inner peace, not only her but she healed many souls and many related to song.
The response from social media and the streets was so amazing and people where surprised of her uniqueness in the South African music industry.

Angelo started to get bookings, performing in big events gaining demands for her sound whilst growing her fan base. Angelo  shared stages with big artists like Cassper Nyovest, Kwesta, Zola7, DJ Sbu, DJ Sdunkero, DJ Shimza, DJ Ganyani, Emtee , Kid X, Areece ,Heavy K the list is endless…

in 2016 Sweet Angelo released her second single “PARTY PEOPLE”, the Dance-hall Heat caused a lot of talk ability to gain street-cred and gaining fans even outside Mpumalanga province, People even started calling her “The Ragga Queen”.

At the beginning of the year 2017 Angelo decided to move from Mpumalanga to Johannesburg.
She said “2017 will be a productive year for me I got featured by the multi-talented local rapper and record producer “Khul KID” in his heat single “BENZO”. With a lot of demands by her fans for more music, she then released another heat titled “MY LOVER” and the song  received massive talk from  people even across the county. 

2017 Later the anticipated EP Titled I WANNA BE FREE was released on both Physical and Digital Copies.

The EP Sold like Hot Dogs she got attention from Big Radio Stations like LIGWALAGWAL FM, RISE FM,NKOMAZI FM,HILL BROW  RADIO,KHAYA FM and many more.

“I’m so excited about the future, I have great dreams of which am passionate about. You will be getting more of me from my upcoming hit singles, live performances, and video. I’m so inspired to work harder to create a good image for myself and a great life for my people. It will be a great honor to represent female Dance-hall singer in South Africa and I believe that one day I will represent the African continent as a whole” she said.


Sweet Angelo is looking forward to step the game up by working with Big acts and putting more work on visuals for TV appearances   is spending time in studio working on her album to be released later this year.
